Blogging is harder in port

For those still wondering, we made it.

It's Wednesday June 4 -- and you don't care what my lat/long is.

The last you heard we were still at sea, but we made it to Bermuda's St. Georges Island on Sunday morning. Customs was fairly painless and Dan was organized so we all got in (even with Tony's open arrest warrant -- just kidding).

Dan released Bruce and I from duty at the customs dock and we enjoyed a few hours walking and eating and taking in St. Georges. We walked across the island to see the Eastern shore open to the Atlantic and the journey ahead. The beaches were beautiful, volcanic coves and pink sand.

We came back to town and kept an eye out for The Mary Darline as they anchored across the harbor and watched but the dinghy never left the boat. We had neglected to grab the walkitalkie and the payphone couldn't get us through to the sat phone on the boat. A couple hours passed and we kept drinking and enjoying a local fund raiser festival in town and still no movement from the boat. Eventually Tony showed up at our table (he caught a ride with a passing boat and had walked from pub to pub until he found us) to tell us that the outboard motor was kaput and Dan was rebuilding it on the ship. Later we found another restaurant/pub overlooking the harbor and watched for Dan and Tam -- who eventually made it to shore.

A great meal and a few beers were had by all!

I flew out the next day (and actually I am already in New Jersey for a work commitment - having only a day to get things at home in order. Poor poor cats. They miss us terribly. Things are STILL swaying. Last night in my hotel room, I thought I was going to fall off the bed. Crazy.

Tam returns today (I think) and the guys are planning to set sail. Keep them in your thoughts. They should have the same winds we had the last couple of days (12-15 knots of wind).

I've added a few photos (though I neglected to download any from Bermuda and the ones of the boat herself). Hope you enjoy.
